How to Apply Attar So It Lasts All Day

Attars (ittars) are concentrated perfume oils, so the way you apply them differs from a spray. Done right, a single application can last all day.

1. Start on clean, moisturised skin

Scent clings to oil. Apply an unscented moisturiser first so your attar has something to hold onto.

2. Target your pulse points

Dab — don't rub — a drop on your wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat and inner elbows. These warm spots gently diffuse the scent through the day.

3. Don't rub your wrists together

Rubbing crushes the delicate top notes. Press lightly and let it settle.

4. Layer for longevity

A touch on clothing (test first) or in the hair makes a scent like Anbar or Noor linger even longer.
